Blog #7

I am loving Twitter, I use twitter probably a few times a week for my personal/social life so using it for the school felt really good. I like how I can interact with my classmates also its fun because you get to see what other students felt and thought about similar assignments. The benefit of using this app is staying in communication with your class, also seeing things from different perspectives.

Creating a site was actually very fun, it inspired me so much to keep going on my journey. I called my student's mountain climbers because despite how big the mountain (challenge) may seem or be you can and will get over it. And it'll all be worth it.

I like the assistive and adaptive technologies. Assistive and adaptive technologies help people with disabilities perform tasks with greater ease or independence. They either provide people with assistance when performing a task or help adapt the task or technologies related to the task so that it becomes easier or possible. I think the hardest one for me in my classroom will be technology and learning disabilities.

This is the Miami Northwestern High school website (where I went to high school). It's a regular 9-12 high school. The website gives links to all the different educational departments, all the different sports, calendars and resources like the honor code and mission statements. You can find AP class websites and dual enrollment websites, as well as extending applications. It's very well-organized, provides links to other school websites the other students may use, and provides easy to access and up to date hubs for events.

Honestly, I can really see myself using Diigo for lesson-planning reasons. It reminds me of Pinterest, but a little less busy and over-whelming. I also see myself using Pinterest, however, for more creative purposes. I already use Google Calendar for personal reasons, so I think I would continue using that for organization reasons.

Being in the Technology Sandbox was very cool. It also inspired me a lot as a teacher to incorporate technology in my classroom. The best part of the sandbox to me was the 3d printer. The printer was detailed and can make anything that you wanted it to make. I liked this a lot because I want to be an elementary school teacher and these 3d dimensions can help kids understand better  because it'll be them learning physically and visionary.

Blog #5

  • Unfortunately I couldn't attend class because I had an make-up exam at the same time. But Diigo look like something that is a helpful tool for us students and soon to be teachers.

I love blogging so much. I actually started a journal just to distress after a long day. Writing feels like a relief at the end of the day. I have been having a great experience with blogging. Although anybody can see it, it still makes me feel confident and free to type how I really feel.

A web 2.0 ill use when teaching is youtube. Ill use this because youtube is a platform that have a wide range of things. This platform can be something to explain more detailed while displaying the different styles. Youtube is an amazing tool that I would incorporate in my students weekly learning agenda.

Blog # 4

love using twitter. Ive been interacting with a couple of classmates even if its just a like or a simple Re-Tweet. I think twitter is a helpful platform and is a comfortable place where people can share there honest thoughts. I want to be able to implement this tool in my class if I do get a chance to teach older students.

The digital divide is just simply the separation of people who have access to technology and who don't. This affects students in school because some students can be held back
from this especially now and in the future because everything is slowly transitioning to the use of technology and if someone don't have access to the sources it can be hard. Students who have the ability to access technology already have an advantage. I may experience low income students that simply cant get it. But I will try my best to keep everyone on the same level leaving no child behind.

Ill use blogs as a software in my class. This will get my students to write down how they are feeling for the week. I also will use twitter for communication because it'lll be fun and different for my students. The softwares ill implement will be fun and comfortable for my students.
