ILP kahoot

Here is a VoiceThread that I created, showing you my Kahoot, and the different features and such of the website'

ILP "linkedin"participation

For my independent learning project, I participated in a LinkedIn Learning course called "What is graphic?'

This course was very useful!  I learned a lot about the learning process, and how to effectively learn the material, remember the material, and implement the material in my life.

ILP "design" goggle classrom

This is my first Independent Learning Project, and to start off I chose design. The tool that I used for this project was Google classroom in order to create an educational content. We have not used this tool in this classroom before, but I have used it previously during my high school years. It's very helpful for teachers and students to communicate with each other, and I can honestly say that I had a great experience creating the content that I made during this first project!

Attached is a link to the Voice Thread of my Independent Learning Project.

  • A paragraph about how you think you will use data collection (surveys) and/or reporting (Excel) tools as a teacher. Be specific about your subject matter area and the grade level.
I will use Excel when I am a teacher to calculate the grades on test or assignments. I will do this so I can see if the students need a curve, but also to check on each students progress. I think this is a good idea for teachers so they can see what students need help and what tests they need to go back over. I also think this is a good idea because teachers can lose their grade book but if you have an extra copy of it then you won't lose the grades.

  • A paragraph on topics you found most interesting from reviewing your classmates’ blogs this semester.
The topic I found most interesting was Excel. On excel you can do so many things with formulas and equations. I like how you can find averages and calculate things without having to do it by hand. Powerpoint was my second favorite because you get to be creative and make fun slides that can turn into games.

  • A paragraph on what technology-related skill you would like to learn next, why, and how you will achieve this goal.
I would like to learn more coding in my next class. I think this would be fun because I love technology and learning coding could be a fun and interactive lesson to learn. I also think learning more about Adobe Photoshop would be fun and I could learn how to do cool edits on pictures. Overall, I have learned a lot this semester in this class, I am so happy that I took it.

The term flipped classroom is when they put a blended class together. They will have kids on the lower level, as well as kids higher on the spectrum. When we think of a blended class we think it's a bad idea but in reality it's not because you get a little bit of everything. For myself, as a future educator I would love to be able to teach a flipped classroom

Open Educational Resources, is a term that people have a hard time remembering. This helps with common core, and helping teachers and students around the nation. Bright Futures is another part of OER, and bright futures is a huge deal for college students. The link that I used was: https://www.oercommons.org

I acquired how to make a game on power point. Another thing I learned was how to hyperlink the certain buttons to go back and forth from slide to slide. I liked these assignments because PowerPoint I feel is one of the more confusing out of the Microsofts so it was nice getting to learn new things. I also learned how to voice record on PowerPoint and talk into it.

I learned an easy way to annotate a website. Diigo has been very helpful and has tools that will be very useful in my classroom. I look at Diigo as if its a social media for educational purposes. You post your best educational website with your annotation and get other people to view things from your point of view.

I will use powerpoint in the last part of Bloom's Taxonomy. Remembering will be the area I implement powerpoint skills. This will help my students retain the information because it will be given to them in a creative and different way.

I choose this article because it gives you the essential tools that you can use for teacher technology professional development. My favorite part of this article was the last point. The article talked about, "Coherence:  the most crucial component is guiding these principles around school-specific goals for outcome improvement. Utilizing data analytics can be a helpful way to understand where technology can best be injected into a school curriculum."

I am loving Twitter, I use twitter probably a few times a week for my personal/social life so using it for the school felt really good. I like how I can interact with my classmates also its fun because you get to see what other students felt and thought about similar assignments. The benefit of using this app is staying in communication with your class, also seeing things from different perspectives.

Creating a site was actually very fun, it inspired me so much to keep going on my journey. I called my student's mountain climbers because despite how big the mountain (challenge) may seem or be you can and will get over it. And it'll all be worth it.

I like the assistive and adaptive technologies. Assistive and adaptive technologies help people with disabilities perform tasks with greater ease or independence. They either provide people with assistance when performing a task or help adapt the task or technologies related to the task so that it becomes easier or possible. I think the hardest one for me in my classroom will be technology and learning disabilities.

This is the Miami Northwestern High school website (where I went to high school). It's a regular 9-12 high school. The website gives links to all the different educational departments, all the different sports, calendars and resources like the honor code and mission statements. You can find AP class websites and dual enrollment websites, as well as extending applications. It's very well-organized, provides links to other school websites the other students may use, and provides easy to access and up to date hubs for events.

Honestly, I can really see myself using Diigo for lesson-planning reasons. It reminds me of Pinterest, but a little less busy and over-whelming. I also see myself using Pinterest, however, for more creative purposes. I already use Google Calendar for personal reasons, so I think I would continue using that for organization reasons.

Being in the Technology Sandbox was very cool. It also inspired me a lot as a teacher to incorporate technology in my classroom. The best part of the sandbox to me was the 3d printer. The printer was detailed and can make anything that you wanted it to make. I liked this a lot because I want to be an elementary school teacher and these 3d dimensions can help kids understand better  because it'll be them learning physically and visionary.

  • Unfortunately I couldn't attend class because I had an make-up exam at the same time. But Diigo look like something that is a helpful tool for us students and soon to be teachers.

I love blogging so much. I actually started a journal just to distress after a long day. Writing feels like a relief at the end of the day. I have been having a great experience with blogging. Although anybody can see it, it still makes me feel confident and free to type how I really feel.

A web 2.0 ill use when teaching is youtube. Ill use this because youtube is a platform that have a wide range of things. This platform can be something to explain more detailed while displaying the different styles. Youtube is an amazing tool that I would incorporate in my students weekly learning agenda.

love using twitter. Ive been interacting with a couple of classmates even if its just a like or a simple Re-Tweet. I think twitter is a helpful platform and is a comfortable place where people can share there honest thoughts. I want to be able to implement this tool in my class if I do get a chance to teach older students.

The digital divide is just simply the separation of people who have access to technology and who don't. This affects students in school because some students can be held back
from this especially now and in the future because everything is slowly transitioning to the use of technology and if someone don't have access to the sources it can be hard. Students who have the ability to access technology already have an advantage. I may experience low income students that simply cant get it. But I will try my best to keep everyone on the same level leaving no child behind.

Ill use blogs as a software in my class. This will get my students to write down how they are feeling for the week. I also will use twitter for communication because it'lll be fun and different for my students. The softwares ill implement will be fun and comfortable for my students.

Being clear, understandable and consistent is a ELA standard that I fee most prepared with. Higher-order thinking, and aligning with college and career expectations are also something that I will be very good at teaching. I feel prepared  with these three standards  with my existing knowledge. I think I will struggle with informing my students of the global economy and society. I think this is the case at-least with the knowledge I have right now is because I don't know much about the effects myself. I don't keep up with the economy and society. Which can be looked at as a a bad thing. I do agree that the mastery of each of these skills is essential for the success of our students in there every day life, career and college.

One of the tools/ resources ill use a lot is the help with lesson planning. This will help me keep my students engaged with the material that I am teaching. I will also use the resources for my students as far as games and tutorials for the material they are trying to grasp.  These two tools are both great and will definitely be beneficial in my teaching.

I actually didn't have time to do this assignment but I did like how this was a creative assignment. I heard a lot from my classmates how they felt amazing about this assignment because it was a closer step to actually exemplifying teaching and technology skills.

In EME using Ms.Word as a student has been very similar to how I use see teachers use it. Ms.word is probably one of my favorite tools to use because you can do so much with it. Its a very creative tool, and can take on document on the next level of creativity. Creativity will be something important because it keeps your student engaged.

My experience I can say wasn't so great. This is definitely something you have to master. As a teacher I will apply these concepts in making my instructions and material a enjoyable thing for my students. Students creating there own works will be something I implement in my class room because it will show the diversity.

Lack of funding will bed something that I will try to overcome in my classrooms. I will do fun activities which will also be fundraisers so that each child have the tools they need to succeed in my class. I will make sure no child is left behind especially because of the lack of funding which is something that shouldn't be blamed on them. I will also try to implements families because is some students who don't have support at all.

Academic Dishonesty will be hard because everyone does a little bit of cheating even if you are not aware of it. But I will make sure my students are aware of the syllabus, and consequences that will be put into placed. I want to be able to make my classroom as understanding as possible and open so if my student is having a problem they can come to be without feeling discouragement. I think that is very important and will set me aside from many other educators.

In my opinion the main influence teachers and students have to use technology is that its very
convenient. In a sense where today if you don't have the answer to something you can quickly search it up. Technology is used everywhere now so it only make sense to implement it in todays classroom. Another influence for teachers can be the creativity that comes with it. This help students be more engaged in what's being taught.

I like this process and the purpose that it holds. One ISTE Standard that is the most meaningful to me will be the standard for students. Its very important for students to be prepared to succeed in the technology field. I like how ISTE is designed to empower student voice and ensure that learning is a student driven process. As of right now one ISTE Standard that might be a challenge for me is the technology coaching. I'll have to improve on becoming a more skilled educator in the technology field to support my peers around me.

Being a Digital Native to me  is when you are born into something, it's almost like its natural.. This is like your  first language, Its something that you don't choose its normally chosen for you. I agree with the label Digital Native for todays youth. All we know now is technology. Before a child is even talking she know how to operate a phone or tablet.  Digital Immigrants have to figure out how to work technology. In other countries they are still using paper and pencils but here you are doing work on a tablet.I am not very experience with technology so I'll call myself a digital immigrant but its a big difference with a native and immigrant, Just as it would be if you are forced to learn a different language. I think that my future students will be using technology to do everything, I think  the world is slowly transitioning to the use of technology for just about everything.

Hi, I am Chanel McCall A second year student that attends Florida State University. My major is education and I'm minoring in Psychology. I hope one day to become a teacher. I discovered my passion for Teaching in the first grade. My first grade teacher was a amazing teacher and from there I knew I wanted to be a teacher. The impact that she had on us young kids was amazing and I wanted to do the same.

Last semester  I actually had a great encounter with educational technology at FSUS. I shadowed a first grade class and I was amazed at how fast the students grasp how to use the tablets. I was also hands on in this class so these 6 and7 year old taught me things about the tablets I didn't even know myself. I thought this was a different experience that was definitely interesting.

I hope to learn ways on how to keep my students engage in the future by implementing technology in classrooms. I also hope to gain more knowledge about using different software's in order to make my classroom a engaging.  Knowing different technological software's will help me to be creative and also help me stay organized.
